Makeup for Black and White Photography

My friend, Lydia agreed to let me use her face for practicing makeup that's meant for black and white photos. Before I started working on my portfolio I read/heard that it's good to have at least one black and white photo so here are they are:

I didn't do anything too colourful because colours don't show, just the intensity or the amount of darkness/light in the colours. That being said I highlighted and contoured heavily with my elf Warm Bronzer and my Coastal Scents Camouflage palette, respectively.

For the eyes I used all the matte shades in the Wet n Wild Vanity palette. I used the highlight shade on the lid and to highlight the browbone, the darkest shade to add depth to the crease and the medium brown to help the blending between the other two shades on the outer half of the lid and above the crease.

I used a tonne of products on the lips to get it how I wanted. You can see how they stand out against her skin tone, are lighter in the center where the light hits and all the colours are blended out and in a slight gradient.

If I could fix anything in this look, I'd make the brows darker so they stand out more and I'd highlight the tear duct area with a light shimmery shadow. Despite these shortcomings I liked how this look turned out. And I'm becoming a better photographer, it seems. My shadow isn't in any of the shots. Lol.
